Their price range from below $300 up to a few dollars more than $600. This makes them popular among people with tight budget but doesn’t want to sacrifice quality. Netbooks are now becoming a popular choice because of their usefulness which evolved from merely being solely used for email and internet before. Manufacturers are even adding more features which makes netbooks more and more useful and even more desirable.

Netbooks are usually sold with 8 to 10 inches wide screen. Its size prevents it from having optical drives and the keyboard is relatively smaller than that of the regular laptop. Watching videos is also possible by using popular video sharing websites or playing them from an external optical drive. Business people are not left without an option. They can run clients, share files through a network while maintaining security by using antivirus programs.

There are things that a buyer should watch out for when choosing a netbook. First is the speed of its processor. An Intel Atom processor is presently the most efficient and fastest one can get. RAM size in next in line. 1 GB RAM is already sufficient for most people but it can be upgraded to 2 GB to suit those who want to do more. Battery life is important for people who value portability. A netbook is usually packed with a three-cell unit. This would allow 2 to 3 hours of battery life. There are models that can last up to 6 to 8 hours because they are packed with 6-cell units. Other features are opted by people depending on their inclinations. One can find netbooks with mobile broadband run by cellular networks. For those who enjoy gaming, Nvidia graphics would enhance their gaming routine. The operating system is also an important consideration. Windows XP is common among many netbooks but some have the more advanced Windows 7, which replaces the Vista. For those who like extra size, netbooks with 12-inch screen are being sold by Dell. If looks matters most, there are variety of frames to choose from including the common aluminum frame and the more colorful ones.

Netbooks are fast becoming a popular choice for computing needs because of portability, economy and variety of features. They are also made to be user-friendly so they are sought after by more and more people who need to do things anywhere, anytime.
